In 1 second
the only thing that changes
is everything

Victoria Garriga. Architect

According to the architect Victoria
Garriga,time is everything that happens
between four imaginary walls. Four
walls that do not constrain us, but rather
that let us make everything happen and
that everything can change from
one moment to the next.

One second. A blink of an eyelid. Now you see it,
now you don’t. Just enough time so that even something
as solid as a reinforced concrete house can change.
In Victoria Garriga’s opinion, this is not just a way
of understanding architecture, but also a way of seeing
the world. From understanding everything around us,
to not seeing anything such as a simple static,
unchanging landscape, in an endeavour to always
go the extra mile.

Because according to Victoria, just by looking, wandering,
walking and living, everything evolves into something it wasn’t
just a second ago. An architect’s slant that puts people
at the centre of every story so that they have the power to make
things happen, change and improve.

This is the true value of time. Understanding
that we can only make every instant better than
the last by becoming its ally. And if we have
this opportunity, why not spend all of
our time nurturing it?

“This is not just a way of
understanding architecture, but
also a way of seeing the world.”
